Jimmy Pattison

In 1986, when I was operating the 108 Ranch Resort, we had a special visitor, Jimmy Pattison.  He booked his entire troup of Expo '86 Pavilion Managers representing most of the provinces in Canada for 3 whole days at our 108 Resort. As many will recall Jim Pattison was the president and CEO of Expo 86, which put Vancouver on the Global Map.
Because we were associated with the Bridge Creek Ranch, we were fortunate to have their cooperation to organize a cattle drive and many riding excursions for the 3 days.
Don Savjord, who now manages the Bridge Creek Ranch, at the time was performing a daily cutting horse show at the 108 Resort, organized all of the riding for Jimmy Pattison and his guests, about 20 in number.  It was the most outstanding and memorable event, during my 5 years of operating the resort.
Many years later, the Bridge Creek Ranch is now for sale.  www.BridgeCreekRanchforsale.com and I have it listed.
How things have a way sometimes, of coming around full cycle!
Incidentally, BC TV have a 3-part series Special on the News Hour, starting tonight at 5:30 on Jimmy Pattison, called the "The Odd Couple", featuring Jimmy Pattison and ex-Premier, Glen Clark, who is expected to be named as Jimmy's successor.
Watch it if you can; it should prove interesting!
